Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Rheumatology team in an outpatient clinic. You will support providers, prepare patients, and coordinate care to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include vitals, exams support, message triage, referrals, and patient education. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy in the EMR, and delivering patient-centered care in a collaborative specialty setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant education or previous clinical experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• Rheumatology or ambulatory clinic experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and patient care skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment.
• Comfort using EMR and learning specialty workflows.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vitals and reviewing medications/history.
• Assist providers with examinations, treatments, injections, and in-office procedures.
• Respond to patient messages and calls, gather clinical information, and communicate concerns to the team.
• Support medication refills, prior authorizations, referrals, labs and imaging orders, and follow-up care.
• Educate patients about their care plan, testing, medications, and next steps.
• Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain timely records.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure readiness for patient care.
• Collaborate with providers and care team to support efficient patient flow.
