Job summary

Intermountain Health’s Southwest Rheumatology Clinic in St George is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in an ambulatory clinic. The role involves assisting the provider, gathering visit information, and communicating with patients by phone and in person.

The position requires MA training or experience, BLS certification, and strong teamwork and computer skills to support high-quality patient care in a fast-paced practice.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or has a current RN/LPN license
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider by gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit.
• Communicate clearly with patients through phone and in-person interactions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to collaborate on patient care.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and follow-through in care delivery.
• Show proficiency in basic medical assisting skills in ambulatory settings.
