ORTHOPEDIC PHYSICIANS ALASKA is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the CARE TEAM in Wasilla. This full-time role includes clinical and administrative duties, patient rooming, vital signs, and EHR documentation to ensure exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications include at least one year of MA experience or externship, HS diploma, and HIPAA/ confidentiality compliance. A signing bonus applies after 90 days of employment in this position.

Qualifications

• One year of clinical experience as a medical assistant or externship completion.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred CMA or RMA plus two years of clinical experience or LPN plus two years.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take vital signs, and document visits in the EHR system.
• Keep exam rooms stocked, cleaned, and ready for patient visits.
• Comply with HIPAA and state laws; maintain confidentiality.
• Answer patient calls and follow up as needed; assist with scheduling.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff; maintain professionalism.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:45am - 4:30pm

Your Role at OPA:

As a Medical Assistant on the CARE TEAM at OPA you will contribute to outstanding patient experience by working with other providers and staff to ensure patients are receiving appropriate care. You will also perform administrative tasks, environmental tasks, and organizational tasks to ensure the clinic is operating effectively.

What You’ll Do:

• Adhere to the scope of practice of a MA
• Room patients, take vital signs, and document patient visits in electronic health record system
• Ensure exam rooms are appropriately stocked, cleaned, and maintained for patient visits
• Comply with HIPAA, confidentiality, and state laws
• Answer patient calls and follow up with patients
• Assist with patient scheduling as needed
• Effectively communicate with patients, providers, and staff
• Maintain a professional presence
• Report concerns to appropriate staff members
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required qualifications:

Preferred qualifications:

• Certified medical assistant through the AAMA OR registered medical assistant through the AMT PLUS two years of clinical experience OR
• Licensed practical nurse certification PLUS two years of clinical experience
