Job summary

Lakeview-Village seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist in patient treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. You will record treatments, instruct patients and families, and participate in care conferences within the rehabilitation team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Must be licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Kansas, and nationally credited as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Demonstrates good communications skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English.
• Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the treatment of patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist to restore, maintain, or prevent the decline of patient function.
• Records treatments administered in patients’ medical records and in the department’s daily billing records, per procedures.
• Instructs patients, family, and staff in maintenance programs, as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Attends and participates in patient care conferences and rehabilitation departmental meetings.
• Maintains and improves professional competency by attending in-service trainings and educational materials.
• Adheres to infection control procedures to protect patients and staff at all times.
• Ensures services are provided in accordance with guidelines, regulations, and standards of practice.

Assists in the treatment of patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist in order to restore, maintain, or prevent the decline of patient function. Participates as an active member of the rehabilitation team.Records treatments administered in patients’ medical records and in the department’s daily billing records, in accordance with established procedures.Instructs patients, family, and staff in maintenance programs, as directed by the Occupational Therapist.Attends and participates in patient care conferences and rehabilitation departmental meetings.Maintains and continually improves professional competency by attending in-service trainings and utilizing other educational materials.Protects patients and staff by adhering to infection control procedures at all times.Ensures that services are provided at all times in accordance with applicable guidelines, regulations, and standards of practice.Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility, to ensure that Therapy Services programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of facility, residents, and patients.Must be a graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program.Must be licensed to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Kansas, and nationally credited as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English.Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
