Job summary

Compañia de Turismo de Puerto Rico busca un sargento de seguridad para supervisar puestos y asegurar el funcionamiento de las operaciones en el área de Turismo de Puerto Rico, con disponibilidad para turnos rotativos y horas extra.

El rol incluye supervisión directa, manejo de incidentes, reporte de cuadrillas y liaison con administración; se requiere vehiculo y cumplimiento de normas. Turnos 10:00pm-6:00am en días seleccionados y días libres.

Responsibilities

• Carry the Company identification card, active security guard, firearms, and driver’s licenses at all times during their shift.
• Wear the complete uniform and necessary equipment for performing their job.
• Communicate with the checkpoint area and their supervisor to report the start of their work shift.
• Document their start and end time of the work shift through the Renova app.
• Complete the designated document to record their meal period (PTA).
• Make attendance projections with the Help Desk.
• Inform the incoming shift of pending matters, orders, or observations and log it.
• Ensure all positions under their responsibility are covered during shifts.
• Train new personnel in the area on duties and instructions.
• Carry out preventive rounds and log findings or confirm All in order with signature.
• Notify supervisor or Security Post of extraordinary events and document in logs and incident reports.
• Instruct officers and refer cases to Human Resources with detailed reports.
• Guide visitors regarding violations of rules and remove undesirable persons from premises.
• Verify documentation of officers (attendance sheet, PTA, logbook) is complete and delivered on time.
• Draft and complete reports or forms required by the company or client.
• Keep digital rosters updated and provide information to the Captain about overtime.
• Verify officers wear the complete uniform and have necessary equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls, activate rapid response at Genesis Security monitoring center.
• Call Police, Fire Department, and other agencies in emergencies.
• Stay aware of Security Guard Division policies.
• Position requires rotating shifts and overtime availability.
• Drive company vehicles obeying traffic laws and report accidents.
• Do not abandon the assigned route without supervisor authorization.
• Maintain calendar with daily tasks reviewed by supervisor.
• Serve as a link between Genesis central administration and officers for documents and procedures.
• Keep work area organized and free of food and beverages.
• Any other assigned task.

The Sergeant is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the posts they supervise as well as for keeping all workstations operating at full capacity as requested by the clients. They provide immediate supervision to posts with multiple security officers.

Responsibilities:

1. Carry the Company identification card, active security guard, firearms, and driver’s licenses at all times during their shift.

2. Wear exclusively during the shift the complete uniform and the necessary equipment for performing their job.

3. Communicate with the checkpoint area and their immediate supervisor to report the start of their work shift.

4. Document their start and end time of the work shift through the Renova app.

5. Complete the designated document to record their meal period (PTA).

6. Make attendance projections together with the Help Desk.

7. Verbally communicate to the incoming shift any pending matters, received orders, or important observations, as well as what has happened in the area, and record it in the logbook.

8. Ensure that all positions under their responsibility are covered during shifts.

9. Train new personnel in the work area on the instructions and duties of the job to which they will be assigned.

10. During visits to the security officers' posts, carry out a preventive round to verify that everything is in order. In the post's Logbook, record the time of the supervision visit, as well as any relevant findings, if any, discovered during each preventive round. Otherwise, write the start and end time of the round and the phrase "All in order," including your signature and employee number.

11. Immediately notify your Supervisor or the Security Post of any extraordinary event (theft, vandalism, trespassing, fight, assault, etc.) that occurs at your post and document it both in the Incident Log and in an incident report that must be submitted to your Supervisor at the end of the shift.

12. Instruct the company's officers verbally or in writing for their information, knowledge, intervention, or reprimand in a professional and courteous manner. Refer necessary cases to Human Resources with a detailed report.

13. Guide visitors regarding violations of the rules, remove undesirable persons or those exhibiting inappropriate behavior from the client's premises.

14. Verify that the documentation of the security officers, such as the attendance sheet, the evidence sheet, the PTA, the logbook, among others, is correctly completed, signed, and delivered on the established date.

15. Draft and thoroughly complete the reports or forms required either by the company or the client.

16. Keep the work schedules (digital roster) updated in order to provide information to the Captain when requested and as a measure to verify the officers' overtime on their route.

17. Verify that the officers under their supervision wear only the complete work uniform and have the necessary equipment for performance during the shift.

18. Verify, respond to, and handle emergency calls or signals, including the activation of rapid response at the Genesis Security monitoring center.

19. Call the Police, Fire Department, and other emergency or law enforcement agencies in case of emergencies such as fire, theft, presence of suspicious persons, etc.

20. Stay aware of the policies of the Security Guard Division and personnel.

21. The position requires availability to work rotating shifts and overtime.

22. Comply with the established route and drive the Company's vehicles obeying all traffic laws, report any vehicle accidents to your immediate supervisor, and make the corresponding reports.

23. Do not abandon the assigned route without the authorization of your immediate supervisor.

24. Keep your calendar with daily tasks reviewed by your supervisor.

25. Serve as a link between Genesis central administration and the officers under your charge to manage documents needed by employees or guide them on procedures in case they need any administrative service, such as: directing them to request a license, submit a claim, etc.

26. Keep your work area organized and clean, free of food and beverages.

27. Any other assigned task.
