The Opportunity
WSDOT is seeking a Rail, Freight, and Port (RFP) Division Operations Supervisor to supervise the daily operations of Amtrak Cascades intercity passenger rail service over a 461-mile transportation corridor spanning two states and one Canadian province. The successful candidate will be accountable for day-to-day compliance with the terms of Washington State’s annual Operating Agreement with the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak). The RFP Operations Supervisor will monitor and measure Amtrak’s delivery of all services to be provided as outlined in the Operating Agreement, and serve as the program coordinator, responsible for coordinating and leading WSDOT’s continuous engagement forums with Amtrak, ODOT, Sound Transit, and other program partners to identify performance shortfalls. The successful candidate will develop and implement plans to resolve service issues that are hindering successful Amtrak Cascades service delivery between Eugene, OR, and Vancouver, BC.
