Job summary

Inovar Packaging Group's Flexo-Graphics division is seeking an RFID Finishing Operator for the 2nd shift (2pm–Midnight, Monday–Thursday) to set up and operate RFID insertion, encoding, and finishing equipment. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment.

You will run IL15000 inlay machines, Printronix encoders, tabletop rewrappers with backprint, and thermal transfer printers, perform quality checks, update logs, and identify efficiency improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• RFID experience preferred; experience with production machinery is expected.
• Experience with thermal transfer printing or finishing equipment is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Review production orders to meet customer requirements.
• Set up and operate RFID finishing machinery (IL15000, Printronix Encoders, tabletop rewinders).
• Run thermal transfer printers and ensure accurate label formatting and output.
• Maintain inlay registration and encoding accuracy.

Position Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and safety-conscious RFID Finishing Operator to set up and operate RFID machinery and related finishing equipment. This role requires operating multiple machines including RFID insertion and encoding equipment, tabletop rewinding/backprint systems, and thermal transfer printers. While RFID experience is preferred, we welcome candidates with general machine operation or thermal transfer printing experience and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and execute daily production orders to meet customer requirements
• Set up and operate RFID finishing machinery, including Inlay Insertion Machines (e.g., IL15000), Printronix Encoders, and Tabletop Rewinders with Backprint capability
• Run thermal transfer printers and ensure accurate label formatting and output
• Ensure proper inlay registration and RFID encoding accuracy
• Adjust machines to maintain quality, efficiency, and accuracy throughout production
• Perform final inspections, count overruns, and prepare labeled samples
• Record setup time, run time, cleanup, quantities, and special job notes in production logs
• Keep all equipment clean, organized, and running in peak condition
• Identify and communicate opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
• Report production issues or equipment concerns to the supervisor promptly
• Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
• Perform additional related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior experience operating production machinery; RFID experience preferred
• Experience with thermal transfer printing or finishing equipment is a strong plus

Technical Skills

• Basic math and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable reading work orders, job specs, and operating instructions
• Familiarity with Label Traxx, NiceLabel, or similar label software a plus

Equipment Knowledge

• RFID Machinery: IL15000 Inlay Machine, Printronix Encoders
• Printing & Labeling: Printronix Label Printer, Thermal Transfer Printers
• Finishing: Tabletop Reroller/Backprint Machines
• Support Tools: Handheld RFID Scanner, Desktop Computers, Pallet Jacks

Skills & Abilities

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality
• Self-starter who works well independently or in a team
• Strong communication and mechanical troubleshooting skills

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and manual dexterity
• Occasionally required to sit, bend, kneel, or crouch
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Good vision, including color recognition and depth perception

Work Environment

• Production floor with moving machinery and moderate noise
• Occasional exposure to vibration and electrical components
