Job summary

MACOM seeks a highly motivated RFIC Design Engineering Intern to join our RF product development team in Lowell, MA. You will contribute to the design and development of a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) in SOI or GaAs tech, from architecture through schematic design and tapeout-ready layout.

You will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools, RF circuit design techniques, and the full IC development flow, collaborating with experienced RFIC designers throughout the process.

Qualifications

• Familiar with RFIC design flow and methodologies.
• Experience with RF/Microwave design tools and simulations.
• Exposure to CMOS/SOI/GaAs technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of RF measurement equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze RF ICs with focus on LNA development.
• Lead concept to tapeout-ready layout of RFIC designs.
• Run circuit simulations: S-parameter, noise figure, IP3, P1dB.
• Develop matching networks to meet gain and noise targets.
• Review RFIC layouts per design rules and RF layout best practices.
• Model passive structures with EM tools and compare with circuit results.
• Perform layout parasitic extraction and post-layout verification.
• Document methodology, results, and recommendations.
• Present findings to RF engineering team.
