Job summary

Strategic Employment is seeking a Senior RF/EMC Engineer in Pleasanton, CA for a hands‑on technical lead role in a privately‑held wireless testing and certification lab. You will run compliance testing across consumer electronics, IoT and telecom products, sign off on reports, and mentor engineers.

The role requires 5+ years in ISO/IEC 17025 EMC/RF testing, deep knowledge of FCC/ISED/EU RED, and strong experience with test equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands‑on in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited EMC/RF testing lab (not solely in‑house/OEM).
• Expert knowledge of FCC Parts 15/22/24/27/90, ISED Canada, and EU RED.
• Hands‑on experience with spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and anechoic chambers.
• Experience across multiple product lines/clients (consumer electronics, IoT, and/or telecom infrastructure).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, RF Engineering, or related field
• Long‑term US work authorization (no visa sponsorship or conversion).

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance testing across a wide range of client products in a FCC/ISED/EU RED accredited lab.
• Sign off on technical reports and certifications for clients.
• Mentor the broader engineering team and support growth.
• Work directly with clients to define test plans and deliverables.

We're recruiting for a Senior RF/EMC Engineer role with an established, privately‑held wireless testing and certification lab in the East Bay (Pleasanton, CA), accredited by the FCC, Canada's ISED, and the EU to certify wireless products for manufacturers worldwide. You'd serve as a hands‑on technical lead — running compliance testing across a wide range of client products (consumer electronics, IoT, telecom infrastructure), signing off on technical reports, working directly with clients, and mentoring the broader engineering team.

Compensation: $135,000-$150,000 base

Must-Haves

• 5+ years hands‑on in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited EMC/RF testing lab (not solely in‑house/OEM)

• Exposure to ISO/IEC 17065 (certification body) requirements
• Background at a small, founder‑led/private lab (vs. large corporate TIC company)
