About The Role

The RFE Associate Attorney prepares and oversees responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs related to family and humanitarian immigration applications. This role supports staff attorneys and non-attorney team members. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience in family and humanitarian immigration law and is passionate about helping undocumented immigrants legalize their status. The attorney will advise and represent clients regarding their legal rights in immigration matters.

What You'll Do
  • Review, analyze, and respond to USCIS correspondence including RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs.
  • Support non-attorney RFE team members with legal escalations and guidance.
  • Identify legal trends and policy shifts to improve response quality.
  • Review and edit RFE responses and perform other legal tasks to meet team goals.
  • Provide onboarding and ongoing training to RFE staff attorneys and team members.
  • Audit work products of team members.
  • Communicate with clients to provide legal advice and handle escalations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of a state bar.
  • At least 3 years of experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration applications (e.g., VAWA, T-Visa, U-Visa, Medical DA, I-130, Adjustment of Status).
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Experience with RFEs, NOIDs, and NOIRs is a plus.
  • Advocacy-focused approach.
  • Strong teamwork and support skills.
