Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Technician to join the RF team, operating and managing RF systems for multiple satellite earth stations. You will work with RF engineers, handle break/fix incidents, and develop troubleshooting documents while supporting various gateways and new product launches.

The role involves day shift with rotating night shifts, site-based work, and potential vaccine considerations if mandated. Strong knowledge of RF hardware and monitoring systems is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• US Citizenship required.
• Experience with or knowledge of uplink/downlink gateway Earth stations and RF systems.
• Familiar with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and RF power meters.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate work product and provide feedback on quality and processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on RF hardware and coordinate with other work centers.
• Coordinate site visits for PM/break-fix actions with external partners.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance and escalate to internal/external teams as needed.
• Check-in/out of vendors/contractors at remote sites.
• Validate facilities hardware communications and alarm testing on new installs.
• Assist engineers with hardware audits and retrofit coordination.
• Work rotating day/night shift as required.
