Job summary

VTG Defense is seeking an engineer in Fort Meade, MD to provide system integration, support, and deployment across the full lifecycle of RF processing systems.

You will perform system administration, software integration, and field testing, with frequent travel to support deployments and lab work. A TS/SCI with Poly is required, plus a Bachelor's in a technical field and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• US Citizen with TS/SCI with Poly required.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Four years of experience as a software integrator, software tester, systems administrator, or systems engineer.
• Active Information Assurance Technical Level II certification meeting DoD 8570 or current workforce requirements, such as Security+.
• Willingness and ability to travel.
• Ability to lift approximately 40 to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform system administration, maintenance, upgrades, installation, testing, integration, and configuration of Linux and Windows platforms.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
• Maintain and develop environments for hardware and software system builds, staging, testing, and integration.
• Perform system, subsystem, and equipment racking, stacking, testing, cabling, and software integration at field sites and local laboratory environments.
• Prepare and update technical documentation for system and software installations, sustainment activities, upgrades, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Provide Tier 3 support for system failures and performance degradation, including problem identification, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution.
• Provide technical support for software development and integration activities in laboratory environments and during field installations.
• Create system-specific software baselines and related configuration files in preparation for new deployments and system upgrades.
• Perform in-depth troubleshooting of information technology systems.
• Travel as required to support field installations, deployments, testing, and integration activities.
