Job summary

Distributed Spectrum Inc. seeks a Systems Integration Engineer to bridge hardware and software in a lab/field role. You will build and validate hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure, define integration plans, and own post-manufacturing QA for sensors.

You’ll also generate RF data, collaborate across disciplines, and deploy sensors in the field for demonstrations. You should be comfortable with Linux, Python tooling, and field work, including travel.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating hardware and software systems, especially in embedded/sensor contexts.
• Comfort with Linux system administration and networking.
• Ability to write test automation and basic tooling using Python.
• Field-ready with ability to install and operate equipment outdoors.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and demonstrations.
• Clear written communication for field reports and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lab Integration and Test: Build and maintain hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure validating end-to-end behavior.
• Define and execute integration test plans for hardware variants and sensor software.
• Own post-manufacturing QA for sensors; scale as production ramps.
• Diagnose failures at firmware/hardware/RF/network interfaces and document causes.
• RF Data Generation / Simulation Harnesses: build data pipelines for test environments.
• Collaborate across ML, Embedded Software, and RF to develop testing tools.
• Field Operations and Data Collection: deploy sensors, configure networks, validate deployed state.
• Operate systems during data collection and demonstrations; identify field bugs.
• Collect and log field data for lab analysis; report observations to engineering.
