Job summary

XSITE LLC is seeking an RF Systems Engineer II - Test & Communications in San Diego, CA, to join our TacAir RIL program. The role requires hands-on lab work, RF testing, and collaboration across engineering disciplines to evaluate radio systems.

You will analyze RF performance, develop test plans, and produce reports while traveling to support test events as needed. This is a mid-to-senior level position with security clearance and lab-based duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, or related discipline.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience integrating and testing radio communication systems across hardware and software components.
• Experience analyzing RF test results and preparing technical reports.
• Experience using RF test and measurement equipment and related software tools.
• Knowledge of waveform behavior, RF performance, and DSP.
• Ability to travel to support test events.
• Ability to learn new test, measurement, and analysis methods.
• Experience in fast-paced environments with cross-disciplinary work.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate, test, and assess radio communication systems across hardware and software components.
• Conduct RF- and waveform-focused testing in laboratory and controlled environments.
• Analyze test results to identify system behavior, performance limits, and RF stress points.
• Evaluate communications performance under complex RF conditions.
• Use RF test and measurement equipment and supporting software to collect and interpret data.
• Improve test approaches, analysis methods, and technical products where beneficial.
• Prepare clear technical reports, summaries, and engineering data products.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines for integrated system evaluations.
• Support day-to-day laboratory activities, integration efforts, and test events to keep work on track.
• Travel as needed to support test events and evaluation activities.
