Zusammenfassung

National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) seeks a Zone Regulatory Services Assistant to support RF spectrum management for the NMRCZ at the Very Large Array site and VLBA stations. The role involves evaluating transmitter configurations, maintaining data records, and coordinating with engineers within the NM Interference Protection Group.

The position requires an associate degree or higher and at least two years of administrative data-management experience, with preference for propagation

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent in administration, management, or engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of related administrative experience with data entry in a database/spreadsheet.
• Willingness to learn specialized software for propagation calculations.
• Familiarity with FCC rules or radio spectrum concepts is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Assist in receiving, reviewing and evaluating RF transmitter installation requests for NMRCZ.
• Research and verify equipment specifications for accuracy.
• Maintain the application database and generate searchable reports.
• Analyze frequencies in the NMRCZ for compatibility considering emission, power, and antenna height.
• Use interference data and dashboards to classify sources and suggest mitigations.
• Collaborate with engineers and staff within the NM Interference Protection Group.
