Job summary

Curtiss-Wright TTC in Newtown, PA is seeking an RF Hardware Engineer, Lead with 7+ years of RF design and testing experience. You will lead design efforts for high‑performance telemetry hardware, modeling circuits, and validating RF performance across 400 MHz to 6 GHz.

This role requires strong analytical skills and cross‑functional leadership. You will contribute to requirements through production release, perform design reviews, and work with RF test equipment to troubleshoot and optimize

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering with 7+ years experience.
  • MS or equivalent is preferred; FPGA experience valued.
  • Experience with RF design, analysis and testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of RF waveforms and transmission architectures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design RF circuits 400 MHz to 6 GHz, 0.5–50 W CW, up to 500 W pulsed.
  • Perform matching, gain analysis and active filtering assessments.
  • Design, simulate and analyze RF and analog circuits with HFSS, MWO, PSpice.
  • Develop DC power supplies and validate performance.
  • Lead design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) and drive actions.
  • Support RF link margin analysis for customers and products.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Job description

RF Hardware Engineer, Lead TTC, a Curtiss-Wright company, are a recognized leader in comprehensive and integrated data acquisition through telemetry systems that include data analysis units, sensors, transmitters, receivers, and ground station analysis tools to measure, record, transmit, and analyze aircraft and munitions parameters during test flights. TTC have a broad exposure on more than 140 programs, including high-performance military aircraft such as the F-35 and F-18, major defense flight test centers, spacecraft, missile programs, and commercial and business jets. Key products include data acquisition units, recorders, network products, RF networks, airborne transmitters and receivers, and telemetry expansion cards. We are looking for an RF Design Engineer, Lead to join our TTC facility. As an RF Design Engineer, Lead, you will have hands on experience with development, testing, and modeling tools and programs used for those tasks. This role requires highly developed analytical skills, problem solving abilities and experience using testing equipment.

Location: Newtown, PA Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 Per Year Please note that the salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in Pennsylvania. Your Challenge
  • Designing RF circuits operating at frequencies from 400Mhz through 6Ghz and power levels from milliwatts through 50watts CW, up to 500Watts pulsed power
  • Understanding of small and large signal parameters associated with matching networks, gain analysis, active filtering
  • Design, simulation, and analysis of analog and RF circuits utilizing HFSS, Microwave Office, PSpice
  • Design, simulation, and analysis of DC power supplies
  • Understanding performance characteristics of passive and active circuits such as amplifiers, oscillators, mixers, filters, PLLs
  • Support the design process from creation of requirements through production release
  • Conduct various design reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR and address associated actions
  • Ability to work with various RF test equipment to support troubleshooting, debug, and product optimization
  • Perform de-rating and reliability analyses
  • Support in-house and customer required root cause corrective action requests
Your Expertise
  • BS in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering (from an accredited college or university) with a minimum of 7 years experience required
  • MSEE with 7 years experience preferred
  • Logic design utilizing Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel FPGAs preferred
  • Experience designing and implementing digital filters using MATLAB/Simulink, preferred
  • Familiarity with RF waveforms such as PCMFM, SOQPSK, BPSK, QPSK
  • Experience utilizing schematic capture and PCB layout tools
  • Familiarity with transmitter and receiver architecture designs
  • Support customers with RF link margin analysis
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Ability to work independently, as well as coordinate cross functional design teams to ensure successful product development
  • Excellent communication, planning and leadership skills
