Position Summary

Skyworks Andover team is looking for a self-motivated co-op to work on the cutting-edge WiFi front-end PAs and modules operating in the 2-8 GHz frequency range for WiFi-8 applications. This position offers hands‑on experience in RF design, simulation, characterization, and performance optimization within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF circuit, electromagnetic (EM), and thermal simulations to support the design and development of RF modules and integrated circuits.
• Assist with laboratory characterization, debugging, and performance optimization of RF ICs and modules.
• Analyze measurement data and simulation results to evaluate circuit performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports summarizing test results, simulation findings, and engineering recommendations.
• Present technical analyses, project updates, and key findings to the engineering team.

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Completion of coursework in microwave engineering and electronic circuit design is required. Exposure to integrated circuit design, semiconductor devices, and semiconductor physics is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Knowledge of microwave circuit design, including amplifiers, filters, transmission lines, impedance matching networks, and passive RF components.
• Experience with RF design and simulation tools such as Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), Cadence Virtuoso, and Ansys HFSS.
• Familiarity with RF and DC measurement equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs), power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex engineering concepts and document technical results in a concise and professional manner.
• Experience with data analysis and scripting tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering software is a plus.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non‑Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
