Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in San Jose is offering a Summer/Fall 2027 Co-op to learn and contribute to advanced RF front-end module design and testing. You will work with senior engineers and subject matter experts, gaining hands-on experience in RF/Microwave multi-chip module development.

You will participate in design reviews, run simulations with HFSS and ADS, and perform lab testing with RF instruments. The program aims to build expertise and may lead to full-time opportunities after

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in an Electrical Engineering MS or PhD program.
  • Commitment to work onsite for 6 month co-op.
  • Strong desire to learn and make an impact.
  • Strong career interest in RF/microwave circuits and engineering.
  • Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in a lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with experienced engineers to design/develop RF/Microwave multi-chip modules.
  • Evaluate and optimize prototypes of RF/Microwave multi-chip modules.
  • Run simulations using design tools such as Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, etc.
  • Participate and present in design reviews.
  • Perform lab testing using standard RF test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design or technical issues; collaborate with other engineers and technicians.

Job Description

In this Summer/Fall 2027 Co-op (June/July - Dec 2027) opportunity at Skyworks, you will learn and participate in developing advanced, state-of-the-art RF front-end modules, working with seasoned engineering professionals and collaborating with subject matter experts within Skyworks. Responsibilities
  • Working with experienced engineers to design/develop RF/Microwave multi-chip modules

Required Experience and Skills
  • Currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) MS or PhD program
  • Commitment to work onsite for 6 month co-op

  • Strong career interest in RF/microwave circuits and engineering
  • Willing to share knowledge and collaborate with others
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS is highly preferred
  • Hands-on experience in a lab using a network analyzer and other RF instruments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of transmission-line theory and circuit design is a plus

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
