Job summary

Austin-based opportunity with NPAworldwide to contribute to rugged embedded RF front-ends for defense and aerospace markets. You will craft RF/mixed-signal chains, design clocking, and power architectures for advanced embedded computing platforms, collaborating with FPGA and PCB teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, test, and production readiness, with opportunities to influence architecture decisions and mentor younger engineers in a global engineering organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing complete RF and mixed-signal signal chains including RF front ends and analog filtering.
  • Experience taking RF hardware from system architecture to production.
  • Strong RF theory including impedance matching, noise mitigation, and high-speed PCB design.
  • Experience selecting high-speed ADCs/DACs from TI/Analog Devices or similar.
  • RF circuits operating up to 18 GHz and digital interfaces to FPGA-based processing.
  • Experience programmable clock generation and distribution for multiple sampling rates.
  • Experience designing low-noise power supplies for high-performance systems.
  • Hands-on lab experience with RF test equipment and measurement.
  • Collaborating with PCB layout engineers to optimize routing and manufacturability.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for analog/mixed-signal issues.

Responsibilities

  • As an RF Analog Design Engineer, design RF signal paths, low-noise analog circuitry, clocking, and power architectures for high-performance embedded computing.
  • Collaborate with FPGA, PCB, embedded software, and systems teams to validate and optimize architectures across the product lifecycle.
  • Lead signal integrity analyses and solve complex RF/mixed-signal performance challenges for defense/aerospace platforms.
