Job summary

Riverside Research in Dayton, OH seeks an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join the ESS directorate. You will work with a multidisciplinary team on microelectronics R&D, focusing on hardware security, RF testing, and DSP techniques.

Security clearance is required to start and Top Secret eligibility is anticipated. Remote work is not available; travel is minimal. This role entails mentoring, rigorous technical analysis, and cross-team collaboration to deliver research solutions.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance to start; ability to obtain Top Secret clearance and program access.
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years experience, or related degree with 3+ years, or a PhD.
• Experience in applied signal processing or RF testing.
• Strong understanding of signal processing theory.
• Software programming experience using Python, C, or equivalent.
• Experience with embedded hardware (VHDL, Verilog) and software (C, Assembly).

Responsibilities

• Configures RF test equipment to capture emissions from microelectronic devices.
• Implements signal filtering and amplification for optimal signal collection.
• Develops custom digital signal processing techniques in software and FPGA hardware.
• Studies cyber-physical threats to embedded systems and presents findings.
• Documents findings in technical reports and presentations.
• Develops whitepapers and presentations to communicate research findings.
• Contributes to proposals for new research in related technology areas.
• Provides mentorship to junior researchers on programs.
• Collaborates with customers and Riverside teams on complex projects.
