Job summary

New Era Technologies in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced RF engineer to deliver high-power RF subject matter expertise spanning power electronics, pulsed power drivers, modulators, and agile RF sources and antennas. You will help validate concepts, establish HWIL simulations, and derive system requirements.

The role requires 5+ years on RF projects, a BS in electrical engineering, and U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance; Master’s degree and Top-Secret/SCI clearance are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on RF-related projects.
• Strong understanding of high-power RF theory and system development.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-power RF subject matter expertise across power electronics, modulators, and agile RF sources.
• Perform analysis and M&S to establish and verify system concepts using high-power RF.
• Establish HWIL simulations to validate equipment functionality and concepts.
• Derive and maintain system technical requirements.
• Provide technical guidance during system design activities.
• Oversee or perform complex integration activities as needed.
• Assist with system tests and demonstrations.
• Exercise independent judgment to solve cost and scheduling problems.

Job description

• Provide high-power RF subject matter expertise including power electronics, pulsed power drivers, power modulators, frequency and bandwidth agile RF sources and antennas, electronic system coupling, interaction and effects, as well as in band and out of band coupling and interaction mechanisms.
• Perform analysis and M&S to establish and verify system concepts using high-power RF.
• Establish HWIL simulations as necessary to validate equipment functionality and system concepts.
• Derive and maintain system technical requirements.
• Participate and provide technical guidance during the system design activities.
• Provide oversight and/or perform complex integration activities as necessary.
• Assist with the development and execution of system tests and demonstrations.
• Exercise independent and professional judgment under moderate supervision in solving cost and scheduling problems.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
• Proficient with distributed aperture radar systems.
• Proficient with radar testing equipment.
• U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance.
