Job summary

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking an RF Electrical/Electronics Engineer II to work on design and development projects and solve advanced engineering challenges in a defense context in Roseville, California.

You will lead electrical/electronics tasks per procedures, serve as Test Director for RF sub-assemblies, present design review material to customers, and support quotes and proposals to drive business opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires BS degree in Engineering (BS in Engineering Technology not accepted).
• 3+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with RF/Electronics in defense programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

Works RF Electrical/Electronics design and development projects and provides solutions to difficult engineering problems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Manages effort and time within the budget and schedule provided for the task.
• Understands customer requirements and prepares designs in accordance with customer and derived requirements.
• Prepares formal, controlled engineering documentation (i.e. drawings, specifications, parts lists, interface control documents, test procedures, etc.).
• Prepares and presents design review material in support of technical interchange meetings with suppliers and external/internal customers.
• Ensures customer satisfaction in relation to projects.
• Supports system testing, trouble shooting, and problem resolution.
• Supports flight testing, data reduction, analysis, and reporting.
• Prepares test plans and reports.
• Follows safety precautions.
• Ensures that the work area and equipment are kept clean.
• Complies with established QMS procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.

RF Electrical/Electronics Engineer II

• Acts as the Lead Electrical/Electronics Engineer per procedure for more complex RF projects as assigned by Manager and/or Technical Lead.
• Acts as Test Director for electrical/electronics/RF sub-assemblies and assemblies when necessary.
• Prepares and presents design review and technical interchange material to customers.
• Supports business development efforts both in preparation of quotes and proposals as well as sales efforts.

COMPENSATION

$90,000 - $110,000

Education and Experience

Required

• Requires BS degree in Engineering (Note: BS in Engineering Technology does not fulfill requirement)
• 3 + years related experience in related engineering discipline.

Preferred

• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to meet program requirements.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Office and/or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
• Frequent outside contact with customers and suppliers.
• May work extended hours or weekends.
• Employee may generate, handle, manage, or work around hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds in accordance with KUAS General Safety Training guidelines.

Travel Requirements

• May travel to support new business development and customer maintenance and travel to other KUAS locations.
