Job summary

Orion Edge in Tampa, FL is seeking an RF Design & Simulations Engineer to define EM behavior of our transmit/receive chains. You will use Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS to model amplifiers, filters, antennas, and transitions, driving designs from simulation to lab validation.

You will correlate model predictions with measurements, improve accuracy with each iteration, and collaborate across hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams within a fast-growing defense startup.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years hands-on RF/microwave circuit design and EM simulation experience.
• Proficiency in Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS, including harmonic balance and 3D full-wave solver setup.
• U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance under ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

• Circuit design & simulation of amplifiers, filters, matching networks.
• 3D EM modeling of antennas, waveguide transitions, RF connectors, enclosures.
• Optimize S-parameters, gain, noise figure, linearity, and efficiency across bands.
• EM co-simulation to verify layouts before fabrication and identify parasitic risks.
• Transition designs from simulation to hardware and validate in lab with VNA, spectrum analyzers, etc.
• Correlate simulated results with measurements and feed corrections into models.
• Collaborate with PCB, digital/FPGA, firmware, and mechanical teams for system integration.
• Develop RF requirements, budgets, and feasibility analyses for system architecture.
