Job summary

Orion Edge, an agile early-stage startup delivering EW and digital disruption systems to the U.S. DoD, seeks an RF Design & Simulations Engineer.

You will define the electromagnetic behavior of systems, architect amplifiers, filters, matching networks, antennas, and transitions for transmit/receive chains. You will use Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS, validate designs in the lab with VNA/Spectrum analyzers/oscilloscopes, and drive model correlation with measurements to accelerate fielded

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years hands-on RF/microwave circuit design and electromagnetic simulation experience.
• Strong proficiency in Keysight ADS and Ansys HFSS.
• Deep understanding of electromagnetics, transmission line theory, impedance matching, resonance and coupling.
• Experience correlating simulated EM results with lab measurements.
• Hands-on proficiency with RF test equipment including VNA calibration and de-embedding.
• Design and optimize RF components (LNA/PA, filters, matching networks, antennas).
• Ability to produce clear design documentation and trade studies.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance; export-controlled data access.

Responsibilities

• Circuit Design & Simulation using Keysight ADS for schematic capture and harmonic balance.
• 3D Electromagnetic Modeling with Ansys HFSS for antennas, transitions, and enclosures.
• Performance optimization across targeted frequency bands and operating conditions.
• EM Co-Simulation to verify layouts before fabrication and identify risks.
• Simulation-to-Hardware transition and lab validation with VNA, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
• Model correlation, root-cause analysis, and iterative improvement.
• Cross-disciplinary collaboration with PCB, digital/FPGA, firmware, and mechanical teams.
• Develop RF requirements, budgets, and feasibility analyses.
