Job summary

Ultralife Corporation is seeking a hands-on RF Design Engineer to develop military-focused RF power-amplifier and electronic systems from ~30 MHz to 6 GHz. You will design, simulate, prototype, test, and validate RF subsystems, working across multiple RF disciplines and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of RF/microwave experience, strong lab skills, and a drive to advance into more complex designs while ensuring robust performance in demanding

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with RF focus.
• 3–5 years of RF or microwave circuit experience.
• Experience with RF amplifiers, matching networks, or filters.
• Experience with RF lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, prototype, and test RF/microwave circuits 30 MHz–6 GHz, including PAs, LNAs, filters, matching networks.
• Develop and optimize RF power-amplifier designs with output powers 20–100 W.
• Design broadband impedance-matching structures, transformers, baluns, and related components.
• Perform RF circuit and EM simulation using Keysight ADS, AWR, HFSS or similar tools.
• Create schematics, PCB layout, grounding, shielding, and impedance-controlled routing in Altium or similar.
• Prototype assembly, tuning, troubleshooting using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters.
• Evaluate gain, efficiency, linearity, harmonics, stability, and load mismatch tolerance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, embedded software, manufacturing, and test teams to integrate RF designs.
