Job summary

Elve Speed Inc. in Davis, CA is seeking an RF design engineer to develop and characterize vacuum amplifier devices, performing RF simulations on amplifiers and passive components, and operating high-voltage test equipment up to 20 kV.

You will work in a small team, iterate designs rapidly, document processes, and contribute to scalable manufacturing in a cutting-edge area at the intersection of RF electronics, microfabrication, and vacuum systems.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with electromagnetic design and simulation software.
• Familiarity with amplifier design, including matching, stability, and transfer characteristics.
• Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electrical test equipment.
• Willing to learn and adaptable.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team.
• Detail-oriented and able to switch between tasks rapidly.

Responsibilities

• Perform RF simulations on amplifiers and passive components.
• Operate high-voltage test equipment up to 20 kV.
• Create and document the design process for rapid iteration.
• Measure S-parameters, gain, and power transfer; assess stability.
• Work with waveguide components, coaxial cables, and RF test setups.
