Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Communications Engineer to join the Communications Engineering team in Akron, OH. You will help architect, design, implement, and maintain RF communication systems, leased lines, circuits, and field communications supporting infrastructure, including DC power systems and environmental support systems for telecom platforms.

You will contribute to project scoping, scheduling, cost management, and coordination with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Networking, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications or related field, or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates on the Communications Engineering team delivering voice, video, and computing services.
• Ensure reliability and availability of communications systems.
• Follow change management procedures and document control.
• Coordinate with internal/external groups for project delivery.
