Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab is seeking an RF Communications Engineer to join their innovative team in Laurel, MD. You will work on designing and implementing communications systems, including FPGA firmware development and hardware testing.

This position requires a BS in a related field and at least 3 years of experience in communications design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in digital signal processing and RF system design, contributing to both new and legacy projects.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in communications system design and digital signal processing.
  • Experience with FPGA/firmware implementation of transceivers and communications hardware architectures.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop FPGA firmware (VHDL) from concept to deployment.
  • Design systems/algorithms for secure communications networks.
  • Work as part of a team to develop solutions under size/weight/power/cost constraints.
