Job summary

Flexible Pack in New Bedford, MA is seeking a machine operator to handle set-up, inspection, maintenance and operation of rewinding equipment. You will mount rolls, configure equipment, and secure approvals from a qualified operator.

Responsibilities include in-process inspections, defect segregation, following procedures, maintaining a safe, clean workspace, shrink wrapping labels, and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or some college; one year experience or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business material; write reports and present information.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, compute rates, ratios and percentages, and interpret basic graphs.

Requirements

• The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or GED or some college / associate’s degree; one year experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Driver’s license, fork lift and CPR licenses required.
• The minimum related language skills required for this position is the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and numerical data. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers and employees.
• This position requires an ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply abstract and concrete variables.
