Job summary

FEA Consulting Engineers in Henderson, NV seeks a Revit MEP Drafter to support our engineering teams in producing high-quality construction documents for mechanical systems. Ideal candidates work in a fast-paced BIM environment, drafting layouts from engineer markups and coordinating with multiple disciplines.

The role requires 1+ year of MEP Revit drafting experience, excellent verbal and written communication, and a focus on detail.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of MEP Revit drafting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to develop and update drawings for HVAC and plumbing using Revit MEP, AutoCAD, 3D and other software.
  • Draft layouts based on engineer markups and red lines.
  • Coordinate model elements to support engineers and project managers.
  • Assist with development of standard Revit families, templates and graphic standards.
  • Assist with AutoCAD templates and graphics standards.
  • Translate mark-ups into drawings; ensure consistency with company standards.
  • Maintain standard drawing files and templates per company standards.
  • Assist in field activities to gather project information as needed.
  • Coordinate work with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, lighting and low voltage.
  • Report progress to Project Managers and senior management.
  • Keep up professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking.
  • Contribute to team effort and comply with company policies.

Position Overview:

The Revit MEP Drafter supports our engineering teams in producing high-quality construction documents for mechanical (HVAC/plumbing) systems. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative BIM environment.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:
  • Work with engineers to develop and update original drawings and revisions for engineering projects using Revit MEP models, AutoCAD, 3D, and other software for HVAC and plumbing system projects.
  • Draft layouts based on engineer markups and red lines.
  • Coordinate model elements to support various level engineers and project managers during the planning and design stages of projects.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standard Revit families, templates, details and graphic standards.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standard AutoCAD templates, details and graphic standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to translate mark-ups/sketches into drawings consistent with company standards; check drawings for consistency with standards and plot final drawings; correctly label final work drawings; and update contract drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain standard drawing files and templates in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in field activities to gather project information as necessary.
  • Coordinate work with disciplines including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, lighting and low voltage.
  • Work at the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Provide technical support to other engineers and draftspersons.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, architects and fellow engineers to coordinate designs.
  • Report to Project Managers and senior management about progress and changes.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Comply with the company policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of MEP Revit drafting experience.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and orally about highly technical subject matter.
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing systems and component materials.
  • Ability to work extended hours and workdays in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and work demands as needed.
  • Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a desire for excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work well with others.
