Job summary

Gresham Smith is seeking a Revit Designer to develop mechanical process 3D models for water/wastewater facilities using Revit 2024+ with minimal supervision. You’ll collaborate with the design team to ensure constructability, drawing standards, and high-quality deliverables.

The role requires strong communication, coordination across disciplines, and the ability to manage design tasks from sheets to details. Hybrid work in Nashville is offered with a focus on collaboration and career growth.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 10+ years of experience as a CAD technician, developing design documents in Revit for mechanical projects, performing design tasks using 3D surfaces, and developing 3D facilities particularly water/wastewater facilities.
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater design components such as pumps, valves, piping, and treatment equipment.
  • Extremely proficient in Revit version 2024 or higher.
  • Experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, and Bluebeam is a bonus.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, clients, and public agency officials.
  • Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, civil/construction design processes, and building systems.

Responsibilities

  • Use Revit to develop mechanical process 3D models of water/wastewater facilities with consideration for constructability and design standards with minimal oversight.
  • Use Revit to execute mechanical process design tasks using 3D surfaces with minimal oversight.
  • Set up and develop design sheets, including plans, profiles, and details, in accordance with applicable drawing standards and templates.
  • Communicate proactively with the design team, clients, and external consultants to resolve design challenges and technical questions, clarify work product expectations and standards, and produce consistent, high-quality deliverables as a team.
  • Work with the design team to resolve comments on design documents from the project team and the client.
  • Ability to coordinate mechanical process design in Revit with other disciplines working in the same 3D model including structural, architectural, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and instrumentation and control.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

About the Role
