Job summary

Innova Technologies Inc., Structural Engineers seeks a Designer II to create advanced architectural and structural drawings from initial designs with high autonomy. You will coordinate with stakeholders and ensure compliance with building codes throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include CAD-based drafting, site visits, coordination with engineers, and contributing to cost estimates and contract documents. A strong background in design and engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Holds an associate or bachelor's degree in design, architecture, or engineering.
• Minimum of five (5) years related experience as a drafter handling all aspects of structural projects.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD to create full-scale and detailed designs from rough drawings.
• Study building codes and regulations and determine their impact on designs.
• Organize structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
• Draw plans for foundations, buildings, and structures per instructions by engineers/architects.
• Visit jobsites to gather data needed to complete designs.
• Determine materials quantities and calculate order quantities.
• Work with architects to generate cost estimates, contracts, and documents.
• Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and incorporate innovative approaches.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Designer II is responsible for creating advanced and detailed architectural and structural drawings from initial designs and specifications. This role involves great autonomy and responsibility compared to a Designer I with the ability to handle more complex projects and coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Designer II ensures that all designs comply with building codes and regulations and provides technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following minimum qualifications, which represent the required minimum education level, experience, certifications and licenses.

Education and Experience

· Holds an associate or bachelor's degree in design, Architecture, or Engineering from an accredited institution.

· A Minimum of five (5) years related experience as a drafter handling all aspects of structural projects.
