Job summary

SCP Health is hiring a Billing Specialist in Lafayette, LA, offering a hybrid work model with remote work flexibility. You will track and trend chart/edit volumes, ensure timely processing, and coordinate with offshore partners to resolve complex edits while maintaining billing quality and compliance.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience with Microsoft Office. A high school diploma is required, with preferred medical billing experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year experience in medical billing preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Track, report and trend chart and edit volume to ensure timely processing and workflow integrity.
  • Evaluate and ensure proper chart flow meeting deadlines.
  • Monitor departmental inventory by process and report to management daily.
  • Research complex edits and implement resolutions to prevent denials and increase billing quality.
  • Outbound calls to insurance carriers for additional data gathering.
  • Examine KAV reports monthly; determine top denials; initiate resolutions.
  • Report out for MOR.
  • Follow up on complex edit issues and collaborate with offshore partners.
  • Help meet deadlines and target inventories by processing edits as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of departmental policies.
