Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a Revenue Manager embedded in the resort leadership team to optimize pricing, product, and distribution across lift tickets, passes, lodging, and on-mountain services. You will translate data into actionable strategies to boost visits and revenue.

The role requires 3–6+ years in revenue management or a similarly analytical field, with strong collaboration across departments to achieve commercial targets and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies across products informed by demand patterns.
  • Forecasting and reporting of revenue, pace, and key commercial metrics.
  • Collaborate with resort leadership to align Revenue Management with operational plans.
  • Identify opportunities to increase ancillary penetration and bundles.

Among other resources, Alterra has a slate of Employee Resource Groups to support our workforce.POSITION SUMMARYThe Revenue Manager is a resort-embedded member of Alterra’s centralized Revenue Management Shared Services team, responsible for driving revenue performance through pricing, product, and distribution strategy across lift tickets, season passes, lodging, ski & ride school and rentals. The primary focus is to grow skier visits, optimize visit mix across paid ticket and passholder segments, and increase revenue per visit through higher ancillary penetration. This role is accountable for delivering measurable revenue outcomes for the resort.Reporting to the Regional Director of Commercial Excellence, this role serves as the Revenue Management lead for resort services and a trusted partner to resort leadership. As an embedded member of the local team, the Revenue Manager works closely with Resort Presidents, Marketing, FP&A, and operational leaders to align pricing, product strategy, demand generation, and financial planning. They translate data and insights into clear, actionable strategies that drive results and ensure alignment across the resort.Success in this role requires strong day-to-day partnership with resort teams, strong analytical and commercial judgment, and the ability to independently manage Revenue Management activities within established frameworks while escalating and partnering on more complex strategic decisions.ESSENTIAL DUTIESOwn revenue performance across resort services and lodging, with accountability for delivering measurable results across visitation, occupancy, ADR, revenue, and revenue per visitManage and execute pricing, product, inventory, and distribution strategies across lift tickets, season passes, lodging, ski & ride school and rentals, informed by guest behavior and demand patternsLead the weekly revenue management and commercial performance meeting at the resort, driving in-season performance management, pricing and inventory decisions, and alignment with resort leadershipAnalyze performance and demand trends, translate insights into clear actions, and identify product, pricing, packaging, and promotional opportunities to drive incremental revenuePartner closely with resort leadership and department heads as an embedded member of the local team to align Revenue Management strategies with operational plans and contribute to annual planning, in-season decisions, and post-season reviewsOwn forecasting and reporting across resort services and lodging, including revenue forecasting by product, lodging occupancy and ADR, pace reporting, and visibility into key commercial metricsManage lodging pricing, inventory, packaging, and distribution strategies in alignment with broader resort commercial objectivesIdentify and execute opportunities to increase ancillary penetration, product attachment, and bundling across lodging, lessons, rentals, and other on-mountain productsContribute resort-specific insights and best practices to regional and company-wide Revenue Management initiativesSupport ad hoc analyses and projects related to pricing, product development, and commercial strategyCOMPETENCIESStrong ownership and accountability; proactively identifies opportunities and takes responsibility for delivering resultsCompetitive and results-oriented, with a strong drive to deliver against targets and continuously improve performanceStrong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data and develop analyses that support pricing, product, and commercial decisionsStrong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance revenue, demand, and guest experienceAbility to build trust and credibility with resort teams and operate effectively as an embedded partner within a decentralized organizationBias for action; able to move from analysis to decisions and drive execution in a dynamic environmentAbility to translate analysis into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for business stakeholdersEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate recommendations and build alignment with resort and cross-functional partnersAbility to think holistically across products and the full guest journey, not just individual revenue streamsAbility to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment and build strong relationships with resort and central teamsStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within defined timelinesProficiency in Excel, including modeling and scenario analysis, and presentation tools such as PowerPointREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION & EXPERIENCERequired:Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, or related discipline such as Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience3-6+ years of experience in revenue management, pricing, commercial strategy, hospitality, or a highly analytical role with direct impact on business performanceDemonstrated experience using data and analysis to inform pricing, product, or commercial decisionsExperience partnering with business stakeholders and using structured analysis and clear recommendations to influence decisionsPreferred:Experience in hospitality, travel, recreation, e-commerce, or other capacity-constrained, demand-variable industries.Prior experience with ski resorts, mountain destinations, or outdoor recreation-focused businesses.Experience developing, testing, and refining new products or offers (e.g., bundles, pilots, or A/B tests).Experience working within a multi-location or matrixed organizational structure.The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of the Company’s total compensation package for employees.
