Job summary

StevenDouglas is seeking a Manager, Revenue Accounting – North America to lead revenue accounting, financial reporting, and key control elements across the region. This hands-on leadership role involves ASC 606, contract analysis, and end-to-end close responsibilities in a multi-entity manufacturing environment.

You will partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, Legal, Tax, and shared services to standardize processes, drive improvements, and ensure accurate accounting.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, technical accounting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with revenue accounting and customer contract analysis.
  • Experience with rebates, returns, distributor/channel programs, pricing arrangements, and variable consideration.
  • Manufacturing or product-based industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle or another modern ERP; OneStream or similar EPM/consolidation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead regional revenue accounting and ensure compliance with US GAAP, ASC 606, and company policies.
  • Review customer contracts and commercial arrangements, including pricing, rebates, returns, deposits, prepayments, distributor programs, and other forms of variable consideration.
  • Prepare and review technical accounting conclusions for complex or non-standard transactions.
  • Own key revenue-related activities within the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, reserves, analytics, and reporting.
  • Partner with Tax on the accounting and reconciliation of sales/use tax, VAT/GST, tax accruals, and income tax provision entries.
  • Strengthen and standardize order-to-cash processes and controls, including billing, collections, credit, deductions, claims, rebates, and returns.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls over revenue, accounts receivable, contract assets/liabilities, reserves, and related financial statement accounts.
  • Support internal and external audits, including walkthroughs, documentation, and remediation of control issues.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and coaching to regional and site finance teams.
  • Partner with shared services to improve billing, AR, credit and collections, and GL processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in revenue analytics, management reporting, automation, ERP, and EPM processes, including OneStream initiatives.
  • Support M&A, integrations, compliance initiatives, and special projects.
  • Lead and develop a team of 2–3 direct reports, fostering accountability, technical expertise, and career growth.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with significant exposure to ASC 606, commercial contracts, order‑to‑cash processes, internal controls, and financial close and reporting.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to build scalable processes within a complex, multi‑entity manufacturing environment. You’ll partner across Finance, Sales, Operations, Legal, Tax, and shared services to ensure accurate accounting while driving process improvement and standardization.

Travel: Up to 10%

Reports to: North America Regional Controller

Team: 2–3 direct reports

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

  • Experience partnering with Tax on indirect tax accounting, tax‑related accruals, and income tax provision entries preferred.
  • Public accounting and/or industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle or another modern ERP; OneStream or similar EPM/consolidation experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
