Job summary

Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) is seeking a Tax Policy Specialist to join the OEPA Forecasting Unit. You will conduct econometric and policy analyses to project statewide revenue impacts and advise on tax policy options.

Responsibilities include preparing quarterly revenue forecasts, supporting fiscal notes and policy discussions, and presenting findings to legislative and OFM staff using SAS, EViews, R, and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years in economic analysis or tax policy analysis.
  • Forecasting and statistical analytics software experience (SAS, EViews, R).
  • Experience with financial modeling and large data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and monitor quarterly revenue forecasts.
  • Prepare revenue impact assessments for fiscal notes and policy scenarios.
  • Provide expert testimonies on tax policies as needed.
  • Coordinate with program areas and staff to ensure data accuracy.
  • Present analyses and forecasts to executive and legislative audiences.
