Job summary

Impact Advisors is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Director to lead end-to-end revenue cycle operations for a medical group, spanning patient access, coding coordination, claims, denial management, AR, and patient collections. You will drive cash flow, optimize workflows, and ensure compliance across locations and specialties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
  • 10–15 years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience, preferably in a physician practice, multispecialty medical group, ambulatory care, or health system environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of revenue cycle leadership experience managing teams, supervisors, or managers.
  • Strong knowledge of professional billing, coding workflows, charge capture, payer reimbursement, claims adjudication, denial management, patient collections, and accounts receivable management.
  • Experience working with electronic health record, practice management, clearinghouse, reporting, and revenue cycle systems.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer guidelines, HIPAA, compliance requirements, and applicable billing regulations.
  • Strong analytical, financial, problem-solving, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead change, influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and drive measurable results across multiple sites or specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all revenue cycle functions across the medical group, including registration, eligibility verification, authorizations, coding workflows, billing, collections, denials, payment posting, credits, refunds, and patient financial services.
  • Develop and execute revenue cycle strategies to improve cash flow, reduce days in AR, lower denial rates, and strengthen financial performance.
  • Establish, monitor, and report KPI like days in A/R, clean claim rate, denial rate, charge lag, and aging by payer.
  • Partner with physicians, practice admins, finance, compliance, coding, credentialing, contracting, IT, and operations to address leakage and barriers.
  • Ensure billing, coding, claims, collections, and documentation comply with regulations (HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, payer policies).
  • Oversee denial prevention and resolution programs, including root-cause analysis, appeals, and corrective action plans.
  • Lead system optimization, workflow redesign, automation, and implementation of new tools or technology.
  • Prepare executive reports, dashboards, and forecasts for senior leadership.
