Job description

The Revenue Cycle Team Lead plays a crucial role in managing and supporting a healthcare revenue cycle team to ensure the efficient remediation of third party accounts receivable (A/R), as well as providing call center support and overseeing a variety of revenue cycle outsourcing services. This position is responsible for supervising Patient Account Representatives I and II, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment, and assigning tasks that contribute to superior third party A/R account resolution, increased productivity, and top-quality outcomes for healthcare clients.

As a Revenue Cycle Team Lead, you will manage the daily activities of assigned staff, providing direct supervision and oversight of workloads. You will monitor both individual and team performance, measuring success against key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring that your team consistently meets or exceeds established benchmarks. This role requires strict adherence to client-specific procedures, as outlined in each client’s Playbook or Detailed Procedure Document, to maintain compliance and ensure process accuracy.

Providing assistance to staff is a core aspect of this position. You will be available to answer questions, clarify policies and procedures, address escalated issues, research account concerns, and offer constructive feedback. Your expertise will also be called upon in client meetings, where you will advise on A/R issues, identify denial trends, and contribute to overall revenue cycle improvements. Effective communication is essential, as you will deliver timely and consistent feedback to team members regarding their job performance, helping to foster professional growth and accountability within your team.

Training and ongoing education are key responsibilities of the Revenue Cycle Team Lead. You will lead training sessions and continuing education classes for your assigned staff, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles. Your expanded knowledge of hospital and physician revenue cycles—including billing, follow-up, third party A/R account resolution, and call center operations—will position you as a subject matter expert and reliable resource for your team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. A proven track record of managing and directing people to achieve common goals is essential. Your leadership will drive team performance, inspire collaboration, and contribute directly to the success of both your team and the organization’s revenue cycle operations.
