Job description

Who We Are
More than Billing Applied Medical Systems is a trusted partner for many practices when it comes to medical billing services. Our reputation for submitting clean claims that get reimbursed 95% of the time speaks for itself. However, there is much more to AMS than billing services.

At Applied Medical Systems (AMS), we’ve spent over 45 years helping healthcare providers thrive through expert medical billing, coding, and practice management. We’re looking for a Revenue Cycle Support Specialist who thrives in complexity, works well independently, and is driven to find solutions—not wait for them.

Who You Are

This fully remote, full-time position is designed for someone who enjoys solving problems, managing complexity, and supporting a high-performing team. You’ll work alongside Account Managers to ensure claims are submitted accurately, denials are investigated thoroughly, and processes continue to improve. We’re looking for someone who sees performance goals as opportunities for growth, not pressure—someone who thrives on rising to challenges and turning them into wins.

What You'll Do

● Review insurance claims and ensure accuracy before submission● Analyze denials and reprocess them across multiple medical specialties● Proactively assist Account Managers with issue resolution, reporting, and documentation● Identify trends in A/R and recommend strategic actions● Support quality assurance by monitoring workflows and flagging inconsistencies● Serve as a knowledge resource and problem-solver for the billing team

What You Bring

● Minimum 2 years of experience in the healthcare billing industry● Strongly preferred: Hands-on experience using Epic EHR and/or experience with ENT billing. ● Preferred: Exposure to multiple medical specialties (e.g., family medicine, orthopedics, behavioral health)● Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team. You prioritize effectively, stay self-directed, and contribute to team goals.● Exceptional problem-solving skills—you don’t need all the answers, but you know how to find them

● Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal)● Tech-savvy and quick to learn new billing systems and tools● Organized, dependable, and motivated by goals—not overwhelmed by them.

What We Offer

● Autonomy & Ownership: Trust to manage your own time and tasks● Growth-Minded Environment: We believe in setting clear goals, supporting each other to reach them, and celebrating progress—not perfection.● Collaborative Culture: Be part of a team that values insight and initiative● Consistent Feedback: You’ll get consistent support and feedback, but we also value people who approach unfamiliar problems with curiosity, structure, and persistence. ● Remote Flexibility: Work from home with a clear work-life boundary● Mission-Driven: Contribute to a company that supports providers and improves patient outcomes● Established & Evolving: Decades of experience with a forward-thinking mindset

At AMS, success doesn’t come from having all the answers—it comes from knowing how to find them.

We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
