Job Description Summary:

Responsible for the timely, accurate submission of invoices to responsible payers for all services and products provided. Evaluates received payments and applies them to patient accounts. Follows up with responsible parties to ensure the receipt of timely, accurate payments. Assists with billing and collection training and completes "second level" appeals to payers.

Job Description Summary:

Responsible for the timely, accurate submission of invoices to responsible payers, of any type, for all services and products provided. Evaluates payments received and applies them to the patient account. Follows up with responsible parties to ensure the receipt of timely, accurate payments. Assists with billing and collection training and completes "second level" appeals to payers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Submits timely, accurate invoices to payers for products and services provided. Understands the terms and fee schedules for all contracts involved. Correctly determines quantities and prices for billed drugs. Verifies that services and products are correctly authorized and documented. Ensures invoices are submitted for services and products that are properly ordered and confirmed as provided.
  • Evaluates payments received for correctness and applies them accurately to patient accounts. Verifies payment accuracy according to fee schedules. Applies payments correctly and mails secondary bills and patient invoices within 48 hours of payment receipt. Notifies the Reimbursement Manager of overpayments or duplicate payments. Transfers payments to other offices within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Follows up on invoices to ensure prompt payment. Verifies receipt and processing of claims. Sends collection letters when insurance fails to pay timely. Follows up on denials within 48 hours.
  • Ensures compliance with contract policies and HIPAA guidelines to maintain confidentiality.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 – 6 months experience in infusion reimbursement or intake/admissions.

Basic Qualifications & Interests:

  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formatting, formulas, basic functions).
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word (e.g., formatting, editing, review features).

Due to pay transparency laws, the full salary range is $19.19-$31.99, determined by education, experience, and market considerations.
