Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision over the coding staff to ensure timeliness and accuracy of coding and data collection.
• Performs frequent audits to ensure documentation and billing accuracy.
• Provides documentation trainings to clinicians to maximize billing efforts.
• Collaborates with departments to ensure coding accuracy and resolve issues.
• Monitors coding productivity and quality, implementing process improvements as necessary.
• Maintains strong CPT/ICD-10 knowledge and communicates regulatory changes to staff.
• Oversees billing to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers per guidelines.
• Develops and enforces coding compliance policies and procedures.
