Job summary

Bally's Tiverton Casino Resort in Rhode Island is seeking a detail-focused Revenue Accountant to support daily entry of audit data, prepare journal entries, and monitor coupons and complimentary receipts. You will reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with federal, state, and gaming regulations within the Finance department.

The role requires strong numerical ability, Excel proficiency, and excellent communication. Gaming environment experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college courses in accounting preferred.
• Effective communication, organizational and analytical skills; audits experience preferred; numbers oriented and proficient with spreadsheets; Excel highly preferred.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions precisely.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic across multiple units of measure.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Previous gaming audit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Enter daily information into revenue audit report forms and run back-up reports.

• Monitor financial activities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company controls in Revenue Accounting.
• Evaluate situations in revenue audits and determine appropriate actions.
• Maintain high levels of service and accuracy in Revenue Accounting records.
• Attend departmental meetings and uphold attendance records.
• Maintain consistent, reliable attendance and perform related duties as required.
• Support other incidental tasks as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Enter daily information into revenue audit report forms and run back-up reports
• Prepare journal entries, track coupons used on property, sort and record complimentary receipts
• Reconcile accounts on a regular basis
• Assist with the monitoring of all financial activities on property with respect to revenue accounting to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls of the company, and any applicable commissions (e.g., Federal and State Tax Commissions, Gaming Commission) are enforced throughout the Revenue Accounting operations of the Finance department
• Evaluate various situations with respect to revenue audits and determine how best to handle same
• Ensure a maximum level of company-wide service and satisfaction in the area of revenue accounting is achieved and maintained
• Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings
• Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; some college courses in accounting or related area preferred
• Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills; experience with audits preferred; must be extremely numbers oriented and computer literate with superior spreadsheet skills. Proficiency in Excel software is highly preferred
• Ability to apply common sense in understanding to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Previous gaming audit experience is a plus

Physical/Mental Requirements:

• Constantly talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger; handle or feeling objects, tools, or controls
• Constantly requires specific vision abilities of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Occasionally reach with hands and arms, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment, either alone or with others.

• Operation of various machines and equipment including but not limited to shredders, copiers, laminating and binding machines, audio visual equipment
