Job summary

OCTA invites college students to join as a Revenue Administration Intern, gaining hands-on experience in grants, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting. You’ll work with seasoned transportation professionals on meaningful projects and build analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The internship runs year-round as a paid program with a 20-hour weekly schedule and up to 1,000 hours in a 12-month period, focusing on practical finance and program administration in Orange County.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time as a college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, economics, or related field.
• Strong analytical, research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial and program information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grant administration and ongoing departmental projects.
• Support recurring financial and program reconciliations.
• Assist with compliance audits and related documentation.
• Compile, organize, and analyze financial and program data.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, tracking tools, and reports.
• Assist with program analysis and research assignments.
• Prepare presentations, memos, reports, and other business materials.
• Support project tracking and monitor activities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with staff on daily, monthly, and quarterly departmental processes and special projects.
