Job summary

Artera is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to own end-to-end revenue recognition across our SaaS subscriptions, usage-based billing, and professional services. This role includes serving as the subject-matter expert on ASC 606 and partnering with AI builders to automate invoicing and rev-rec workflows.

This frontier finance position involves redesigning revenue accounting, partnering with cross-functional teams, and driving accuracy, scalability, and faster close.

Qualifications

• Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition for SaaS and services.
• Ability to review contracts with multiple performance obligations and renewals.
• Experience implementing AI solutions in finance to automate processes.
• Billing and deferred revenue management knowledge, including multi-year contracts.
• Strong month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting capabilities.

• Revenue Recognition Ownership across SaaS subscriptions, usage-based fees, and services.
• Contract Analysis for complex multi-product deals, pilots, expansions.
• Design and implement agentic AI solutions to automate invoicing and rev rec workflows.
• Oversee NetSuite invoicing for recurring and usage-based billing; manage deferred revenue.
• Close & Reporting: month-end close, journal entries, executive commentary.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with product, sales, and operations to optimize revenue processes.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Artera is seeking an experienced Revenue Accounting Managerto own end-to-end revenue recognition across our SaaS subscriptions, usage-based billing, and professional services — and to be the subject matter expert on ASC 606 as we scale.

This is also a frontier finance role. You'll partner with our AI Builder teams to put agentic AI to work inside the revenue function itself, automating invoicing, reconciliations, and rev-rec workflows that traditionally lived in spreadsheets. We're not looking for someone to \"use AI on the side\"; we're looking for someone who wants to redesign how revenue accounting is done.

Responsibilities

• Revenue Recognition Ownership: Own the revenue recognition schedule across SaaS subscriptions, usage-based fees, and professional services, ensuring full ASC 606 compliance.


• Contract Analysis: Review customer contracts to determine treatment for multiple performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, and renewals across complex arrangements (multi-product deals, pilots, expansions).


• Agentic AI in Finance: Design and implement agentic AI solutions (e.g., Claude Code) to automate invoicing, reconciliations, and revenue recognition workflows — improving accuracy, scalability, and close speed.


• Billing & Deferred Revenue: Oversee NetSuite invoicing for recurring and usage-based billing; maintain and reconcile deferred revenue schedules and contract liabilities for multi-year agreements.


• Close & Reporting: Execute month-end close for revenue accounts, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, and deliver trend, cohort, and variance commentary for executive and board reporting.
