Job summary

Brewer Morris is seeking a Senior Revenue Accounting Manager to own revenue accounting operations and lead the full order-to-cash cycle for a rapidly expanding AI company.

You will oversee ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition, billing, AR, and controls across enterprise and self-service customers, driving automation and scalable processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience with substantial revenue accounting exposure.
• Strong ASC 606 expertise and complex revenue scenarios.
• Experience supporting usage-based, subscription, or consumption-driven models.
• Ownership of billing, accounts receivable, and order-to-cash processes.
• Familiarity with payment reconciliations, settlements, and fees.
• Proficiency with Zuora, NetSuite ARM, RevPro, Maxio, HubiFi or similar.
• Advanced Excel; SQL knowledge is advantageous.
• CPA certification preferred; Big Four experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly revenue close process for a high-volume, consumption-driven business.
• Maintain and refine revenue recognition policies in line with ASC 606.
• Analyze complex revenue issues: variable consideration, breakage, rights.
• Review customer agreements to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Manage the complete order-to-cash workflow: invoicing, billing, collections, cash application, disputes, reporting.
• Oversee billing for enterprise and self-service customers, including usage-based invoicing.
• Direct AR operations, reserve analyses, aging reviews, and write-offs.
• Implement scalable controls and documentation to support growth.

About the Role

An innovative and rapidly expanding AI company is looking for a Senior Revenue Accounting Manager to take ownership of revenue accounting operations and lead the full order-to-cash cycle.

This highly visible position will play a critical role in supporting a growing, usage-based revenue model. The ideal candidate will oversee revenue recognition, billing operations, receivables, system optimization, and internal controls across a diverse customer base that includes self-service users, enterprise clients, platform partners, and strategic alliances.

This opportunity is well suited for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys building scalable processes, improving automation, and collaborating across departments in a fast-paced growth environment.

What You'll Do:

Revenue Accounting & ASC 606 Compliance

• Lead the monthly revenue close process for a high-volume, consumption-driven business.
• Maintain and refine revenue recognition policies in accordance with ASC 606 standards.
• Analyze complex revenue-related issues, including variable consideration, breakage, material rights, and principal versus agent assessments.
• Review unique customer agreements and partnership structures to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Manage the complete order-to-cash workflow, including invoicing, billing, collections, cash application, dispute resolution, and reporting.
• Oversee billing activities for both enterprise and self-service customers, including usage-based invoicing and overage calculations.
• Direct accounts receivable operations, reserve analyses, aging reviews, and write-off processes.
• Implement scalable controls, procedures, and documentation to support continued growth.

Revenue Systems & Process Improvement

• Administer and enhance revenue automation tools and reconciliation systems.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of payment platforms, including settlements, fees, transaction activity, and cash receipts.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Data teams to maintain revenue data quality and reliability.
• Champion automation initiatives designed to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Own revenue and accounts receivable account reconciliations.
• Coordinate revenue-related close activities while identifying ways to streamline month-end processes.
• Deliver meaningful revenue reporting and financial insights to leadership.
• Develop and maintain internal controls that support a growing and evolving organization.

Audit & Regulatory Compliance

• Act as the primary liaison for external auditors on revenue accounting matters.
• Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for audits.
• Strengthen accounting policies and control frameworks to meet expanding compliance and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Required Background

• 6+ years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to revenue accounting.
• Strong expertise in ASC 606 and complex revenue recognition scenarios.
• Experience supporting usage-based, subscription, consumption-driven, or credit-based business models.
• Demonstrated ownership of billing, accounts receivable, and order-to-cash processes.
• Experience reconciling payment processor activity, settlements, fees, and customer receipts.
• Proficiency with revenue and billing solutions such as Zuora, NetSuite ARM, RevPro, Maxio, HubiFi, or similar platforms.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with experience working with large transaction-level datasets.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities; SQL knowledge is advantageous.
• Ability to succeed in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• CPA certification.
• Public accounting or Big Four background.
• Experience supporting IPO readiness, public-company reporting, or audit-intensive environments.
• Exposure to multi-entity, multi-currency, and intercompany accounting structures.
• Track record of designing and implementing accounting processes and controls from scratch.
• Base salary ranging from $175,000 to $220,000
