Job summary

Xenon Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Director of Revenue Accounting to lead the revenue recognition and GTN accounting in a fast‑growing biotech environment. The role collaborates with Commercial and Finance to deliver accurate revenue reporting and robust forecasting from the Boston area.

The ideal candidate will have a CPA, 10+ years in biotech/pharma finance, and strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and government pricing. Hybrid work arrangement, Needham/Boston base.

Qualifications

• CPA or equivalent certification required; Big Four training preferred.
• Strong experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical commercial finance and US GAAP/SOX controls.
• Expertise in Gross-to-Net accounting, revenue recognition, and government pricing.
• Solid understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical distribution models (PBMs, 340B, 3PL, etc.).
• Experience with ERP implementations or financial systems transformation is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement GTN reserve methodologies and accounting controls.
• Manage monthly close for revenue and GTN with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Lead quarterly GTN forecasting; analyze pricing actions, margins and market trends.
• Ensure compliance with government pricing reporting and state price transparency.
• Develop data flows with 3PLs and external parties; prepare SOX-compliant SOPs.
