Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX seeks a Repair Operations Manager to lead the design and governance of repair processes across contract manufacturers and 3rd‑party returns centers. You will drive continuous improvement with data‑driven decisions and coordinate cross‑functional teams to meet quality and output needs.

Ideal candidates have PM experience in repair/manufacturing, familiarity with SAP/Salesforce/RMA, and a proven ability to lead multi‑site initiatives while communicating clearly with stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • PM experience in repair or manufacturing at a data-center component maker.
  • Lean Six Sigma / ISO 9001 familiarity.
  • Operations or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience onboarding 3rd-party partners.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Salesforce, and RMA.
  • Experience working across multiple geographic locations.
  • Fluent in English; strong communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee activities for AMD at contract manufacturing providers to ensure output and quality meet requirements.
  • Design and implement repair processes and procedures aligned with internal policies.
  • Provide oversight and governance of returns center processes and reporting.
  • Manage returns processes across a cross-functional organization.
  • Provide clear and timely communications to multiple stakeholders.
  • Apply project management principles on small to large projects.
  • Use a data-centric approach to prioritize focus areas and drive improvements.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers on priorities and deadlines.
  • Initiate changes to processes to improve efficiency.
  • Involve team members in planning, decision-making and execution.
  • Ensure CM suppliers have control plans to meet specs.
  • Implement quality metrics to drive end-to-end improvement.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with suppliers on yearly projects.
  • Drive SPC compliance to reduce out-of-control conditions.
  • Conduct yearly audits and line walks when required.

THE ROLE:

Join the global quality returns team as a Repair Operations Manager to support a rapidly growing new business. The role will include designing and implementing new repair processes and procedures along with managing the governance and oversight of our 3rdparty returns centers. This role partners with AMD internal stakeholders to drive our Suppliers to meet AMD quality and output requirements. We are in search of an experienced operations manager with strong analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization to meet commitments for successful returns center management.

THE PERSON:

A strong communicator, creative problem solver, with a data centric mindset, cross-functional collaborator, and deep understanding of reverse supply chain processes including inventory management, quality, materials management, manufacturing operations, and planning. Must be self-directed and able to work in complex and dynamic ecosystems. Must be efficient in managing time and resources in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee activities being performed for AMD at contract manufacturing (CM) service provider to ensure output and quality meet AMD’s requirements.
  • Design and implement repair processes and procedures that adhere to internal policies and meet stakeholder requirements
  • Provide oversight and governance of returns center processes and reporting
  • Manage returns processes across a cross-functional / matrix organization
  • Provide clear and timely communications to multiple stakeholders
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the principles ofproject management andapply them effectively on small to large-size projects
  • Use a data centric approach to prioritize focus areas and drive continuous improvement
  • Coordinate with Program Managers on priorities and deadlines
  • Initiate changes to existing processes and methods to improve project and teamefficiency
  • Proactively involve team members in planning, decision-making and execution efforts
  • Ensure that CM suppliers have developed and executed manufacturing control plans to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Implement quality metrics to drive end-to-end continuous improvement.
  • Identify systematic improvement opportunities and work with suppliers to establish yearly long-term improvement projects to reduce quality defects.
  • Drive SPC compliance and improvement to reduce out of control conditions.
  • Conduct yearly audits and line walks when required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Project Management experience in repair or manufacturing processes at a datacentercomponent manufacturer
  • Quality Management experience ie: Lean Six Sigma Certification, Familiarity with ISO9001)
  • Operations/Manufacturing experience
  • Experience managing and/or onboarding 3rdparty partners
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of systems and processes (SAP, Salesforce, RMA)
  • Experience working with teams across multiple geographic locations
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and with the ability to adapt and be creative.
  • Detail oriented, self-driven with a strong sense of pride and ownership.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively as a self-starter and as part of a team
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • BS/BA or equivalent
  • PMP / CPIM / CSCP or related certifications preferred
