Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority seeks a Workers’ Compensation Specialist to support the administration, tracking, and oversight of work-related injury and illness claims. You will act as a liaison between WMATA, the TPA, and counsel, aiding claim documentation and compliance across departments including HR, Payroll, and Sun safety initiatives.

You will also assist with audits, data management in RMIS and claims systems, and participation in WMATA’s Light Duty program to help

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of how WC claims are adjudicated with respect to use of a TPA.
• In-depth knowledge of WC laws and litigation procedures for DC, MD, and VA.
• Advanced knowledge of WC coverage and what constitutes a compensable claim by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Manage WC Return to Duty process coordinating with operations, payroll, and TPA.
• Oversee WC TPA compliance with WCCM and P/I instructions.
• Develop and conduct training on WC reporting procedures, P/I, and new WC rules to improve program effectiveness.
