Job summary

Suburban Automotive Services, LLC in Michigan is seeking a Retrofit Technician to complete repairs and diagnostics to prepare vehicles for sale. You will follow engineering guidance to convert non-saleable units into saleable ones, and perform additional diagnostics as needed.

The role requires basic diagnostic skills, the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and use hand and power tools. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Basic diagnostic skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Own a cell phone to communicate with clients and team members.
• Mild to moderate understanding of how to use a computer for programming all modules within a vehicle.
• Must have basic hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, picks, pliers, hammers, impacts, ratchets, and grinders.
• Experience using battery chargers and maintainers.
• Experience using special equipment (hoist, transmission jacks, cherry pickers).
• Proper use of handling fluids.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to mild automotive repairs.
• Remove and place any given part as needed.
• Diagnose vehicles as they come in.
• Program modules within vehicles using a computer.
• Perform unspecified problems with a vehicle and determine corrections.
• Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align practices with SAS mission.
