Job summary

GLS North America is launching a Retrofit Technician program designed to train individuals in basic automotive repair and vehicle modifications. Trainees will work with experienced team leads, learning diagnostics, part removal, and programming with advanced tools.

The program emphasizes safety, mentorship, and hands-on growth while offering a clear pathway to certification and advancement. Starting pay is $18/hour during training, rising to $20–$25/hour after graduation and certification.

Qualifications

• Must meet company background check and drug screen requirements.
• Basic mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience preferred.
• Eagerness to learn and grow under mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic automotive repairs under Retrofit Technician leads.
• Assist with part removals, installations, and vehicle modifications.
• Learn diagnosis and troubleshooting with advanced tools.
• Support programming and module reconfiguration processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow safety procedures.
• Attend team safety meetings and technical training sessions.

What You’ll Do:

• Work alongside experienced Retrofit Technician Team Leads to learn and perform basic automotive repairs.
• Assist with part removals, installations, and vehicle modifications.
• Learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using advanced tools.
• Support programming and module reconfiguration processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow all safety procedures.
• Participate in team safety meetings and technical training sessions.

What You Bring:

• A strong passion for cars and hands-on mechanical work.
• Eagerness to learn and grow under the mentorship of seasoned technicians.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic mechanical aptitude or hands-on experience (preferred but not required).
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Valid Driver's License with an adequate driving record.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to work hard.
